At Amherst Orthodontics, we truly love working with children and young adults because a healthy bite and beautiful smile can go a long way to improving a child’s self-confidence, success in life, and overall health. Working with kids also allows us to positively impact their lives (and stay young ourselves). We look forward to getting to know you and your child and understanding your treatment goals.
You can be assured that we only recommend treatment where there is real benefit to be had, and we are also happy to let you know when we believe that treatment is not needed. In fact, we invite you to ask us when the last time was we recommended no braces!
In some cases, there are real advantages to early intervention. Most orthodontic treatment begins between ages 9 and 14. However, by age 7, problems with jaw growth or emerging teeth can be identified. This is significant since many orthodontic problems are more easily and appropriately treated at an early age. For this reason, the American Association of Orthodontists recommends children have an orthodontic evaluation by age 7. Treatment options for teenagers may include traditional braces, ceramic or ‘clear’ braces, or Invisalign Teen. We look forward to helping your son or daughter achieve the smile of a lifetime!
A referral from your dentist is not necessary to schedule an exam, so please contact us if you would like a complimentary evaluation for your child. To learn more about your first visit with us, click here.
